Top-handle bag, frame clutch or clutch with handle: which shape to choose

The three shapes of SIVICA's crochet bags: what each one is like, how you carry it and what fits inside, to choose the right one before the colours.

When you ask me for a made-to-order bag, the first question is always the same: which shape? On the site you can try three, each with the t-shirt yarn colours I have at home. Here's what they're like and who they suit best.

The top-handle bag

It's the roomiest of the three: wide, slightly rounded, with soft corners and an arched handle that grows out of the rim. It stands up on its own and you carry it by hand or on your arm.

It's for you if you want an everyday bag, small but practical, with room for your phone, purse and keys without having to squeeze them in. Try the colours on the top-handle bag.

The frame clutch

It has no handle: you hold it in your hand or under your arm, and the mouth opens and closes with the frame. It's wider at the bottom than at the top, with a soft, gathered shape.

It's for you if you're looking for a bag for evenings out or special occasions, to rest on the table, with just the essentials inside. Try the colours on the frame clutch.

The clutch with handle

It's the lowest and longest: wide and rounded, with a short band handle above the opening. You carry it by hand, on your wrist or under your arm.

It's for you if you like a slim bag, one that also fits inside a bigger bag, and you carry just a few things. Try the colours on the clutch.

Before you choose

  • Measure what you always carry. Your phone, purse, glasses: you'll find the approximate size of each shape on the colours page, next to its name.
  • Think about how you'll carry it. By hand, on your arm, under your arm? If you'd like to wear it on your shoulder, tell me in your request and we'll see together what can be done.
  • The sizes aren't fixed. That's exactly what made to order means: you choose the shape, size and colours.

Once you've found your shape, move on to the colours: I've also written about how to match them. And if you already have a clear idea, ask me for your made-to-order bag.
